Iris Penning is stadsdichteres en singer-songwriter. Ze is voorvechter van creativiteit en eigenwijsheid. Ze maakt eigenwijze poëtische popliedjes en zat, ondanks de coronacrisis niet, stil. Als stadsdichter maakte ze de podcast ‘Besmettelijke teksten’, waarbij ze in gesprek gaat met andere kunstenaars. Daarnaast bracht ze een vaste bijdrage aan de culturele talkshow EindjeCultuur die Cultuur Eindhoven met Studio040 afgelopen seizoen maakte. Ook deed ze een coronaproof optreden genaamd ‘buiten op de bank’ en mocht ze op Koningsdag een prachtig werk voordragen aan de koning en koningin.
Iris Penning, Eindhoven's poet in residence, is a singer-songwriter that promotes creativity and headstrongness. She writes and performs poetic and precocious pop songs. During the Corona crisis, she has not at all been sitting still: she produced the podcast 'contagious texts' in which she speaks with other artists. Last season, she was a steady guest in the cultural talk show called Eindje Cultuur, produced by Cultuur Eindhoven and Studio040. Iris also did a Corona proof show called 'Outside on the sofa' and had the honour to read a wonderful piece to the Dutch King and Queen on King's Day.
